Ram Singh Mehra Homestay is the oldest property in Kasar Devi. It was the first homestay that was started in Kasar Devi in 1974. The family also carries a legacy of setting up the first PCO and Chai Shop in Kasar Devi. We offer both traditional mudhouses as well as the modern luxury rooms depending on the requirement. Property is surrounded with ample of trees, birds, and greenery. The Great Himalayan Ranges are visible from the property. To make our guests feels more homely, we also provide home-cooked traditional meals. The property is easily accessible by roads and is just a kilometer away from the Kasar Devi temple.Languages spoken: English, Hindi
We discovered this homestay while browsing for places online. There is a history attached to it (being the first homestay of the area, since 1970s) and it is easy to see why. In the recently expanded new building you get comfortable amenities along with an unbeatable view of the mountains Nanda Devi, Panchuli, Trishul and others. While those are what will bring you here first time, what will make you want to come back is prompt and personal service by Suraj, Sanjay and their staff. They are cordial and welcoming for all guests.
This place is a very peaceful, serene and pet friendly place. It has all the comforts you can think of and the Hosts (aunty and Suraj) will do their best to accommodate all your demads. The food is cooked by aunty herself in a homely manner and is super tasty, you just have to tell in advance. It's not a hotel, it's a homestay and one of the best in Kasar regions. Just walking distance from the main temple. A must visit place. You will go as guests and return as friends. I made few good friends in my very brief stay of two days. And yes, the view is awesome.
I stayed at the homestay for 3 months. The place has the best view of Himalayas in Kasar Devi. The rooms are tidy and specious. The place has different types of rooms for different budgets. It is run by a family who is sweet and helpful, they will go the extra mile to make your stay comfortable. The food is homely and yummy, do ask them for Aloo Poori and Shakshuka. Would love to stay with them again!
